Does anyone have a good book about the daily life of a soldier in combat to recommend? doesn't matter if its fiction or not.

Private Peaceful is a decent read, though it takes a while to get to the war parts. It's tailored to younger people but highly enjoyable imo

Fear: A Novel of World War I is pretty good but not sure if that's what you're looking for.

In Stahlgewittern
Starship Troopers
Warrior Soul by Chuck Pfarrer
Bravo Two Zero
Thats what comes to mind for me right now
There are a lot of biographies by soldiers out there, especially by Navy Seals and SAS troopers
Also war-biographies about the two big ones
What it is like to go to war by Karl Marlantes is about the whole war experience, but it has a esoteric touch, you might like it or not
He also wrote the book Matterhorn about Vietnam, havent read it but its supposed to be good
Maybe ask over here >>>/k/

Not really about a soldier but I found it to be incredibly interesting and I guess you might enjoy it aswell.
My war gone by and I miss my so by Anthony Lloyd.
It's the memoirs of a war time journalist in the Serbian war (kebab gets removed as a bonus).

Keegan's Face of Battle is the classic on this.
On Killing by Grossman is great too

Im Westen nichts Neues/All Quiet on the Western Front
Low Level Hell (Vietnam scout pilot point of view, it also contains some pictures). It's interesting but perhaps you will find it too action centered and a little over the top.
