Salvoj Zizek brings forth some valid arguments, although the main reason for concern isn't the technology but what we'll do with the technology once it starts to effect politics/culture in a drastic way. e.g. putting regulation on the enhancements regular civilians have vs. police powers, government officials, etc. no matter the amount of money someone has. This entire concept reminds me of Ghost in the Shell TV show once the entirety of section 9 is dissolved after being deemed having too much power. In the end, it'll be government agency at war with each other and we the people will pay the price with our blood. But then again, it's just a theory.
