Do you know of any good literary examples?

It's like unmodernism, but more subreactive than reactive.

It's like an interjection of conjection and dejection a rejection of abjection but also subjection to objection.

It's a art movement that took replaced the representation of the core modernist and classical values with the representation of art itself (in all its forms, from art-making to art-contemplation to questions on what is art): instead of being a discourse on what is beautiful, sublime, frightening, etc. this new art was about its phenomenon itself.

Nothing comes to mind. Maybe Gass or Marlon James.
Film and music have a better handle on metamodernism

it oscillates between modernism and postmodernism. It embraces both irony and sincerity, switching between levels of engagement and detachment. There are many trends that are said to belong to the metamodernist movement, including, but not limited to, New Sincerity and Alt Lit. Essentially, it's a different conception of freedom that realizes that we are all bound to scopes, yet, through oscillation, much like a variable in an environment, it can enter and exit functions and still be considered free for those functions. Or in other words, those functions do not constrain its essence, but only by having an indeterminate form that does not stick to a narrow lexical scope, can we hope that it transcends, so to speak, the existing bounds. Or much like interplanetary spaceflight, where a constraining planet, that binds by, for instance, its gravitational force becomes another once the spaceship arrives at its new destination. And like the literature of exhaustion, metamodernism comments on the existing literature in a meta- way through such transcendence.

Isn't this just a thing Shia LaBeouf made up to cover for him being outed as a massive plagiarist?
