This. Dylan has always said he's nothing but a musician, a 'song and dance man'. He writes poetic lyrics to songs but not necessarily poetry, though his songs do tell stories damned well. Just because people have memed him into a great literary figure, doesn't mean he himself subscribes to that. He was most bemused of all to find he'd been awarded the Nobel. Don't know much about Patti Smith, but don't hate on Dylan.
