We know that most of philosophy boils down to 'just b urself'.
But is there philosophy that advices against beeing yourself?

Surely most philosophy says you should actively try to change yourself in some way. You could argue that even the stuff that really does say 'just be yourself' ends up doing it.

Even the change is encouraged, it's still constrained within the naturalistic limits of 'what ought to be'. For example, Aristotle wants you to change to fit your natural mold, be that of a ruler or a farmer.

Any moral one.
The ego doesn't actually matter in a lot of philosophies.
You don't matter in determinism.

I might be showing my ass here but in one of Montaigne's earlier essays he states Plato as saying something along the lines of "Know thyself and do thy job." Though I can't remember that quote myself from Plato, and I think it's like I said: a boiling down. Still, it's not "be yourself."
And then of course there's Polonius to Laertes: "This above all to thine own self be true."

I went to a modern art exhibit one time that was a bunch of scrolling digital marquees with different phrases scrolling past.
One of them was "Don't be yourself because you fuck people you hate."
Good philosophy? Bad philosophy?
