what did /lit/ think of this gem?
That story is my favorite Kleist
>>9449019
What other kleist do you like?
>>9448346
i really hate the 18th century trend of omitting identifiers. it does NOT make the story more believable.

I found it very uneven and very forgettable, even the stories I did enjoy. I remember liking one about a miller's daughter, a sort of retelling of the Bluebeard legend, and the titular tale. But by the time I started Michael Kohlhaas I got fed up with the whole thing.
The most controversial dash in literature.
kleist's plays are much better. his language in prose is unremarkable like a hardware manual and the taboos which made it risky are long gone.

>hardware manual
You should read him in German then. His sentences are actually very twisty and postmodern in their complex streams

i did and antilogocentric pomo interpretations are uninteresting to me.
>>9450502
Well Kleist's whole project is antilogos so how can you read his plays?
>>9450533
kleist was a simple man scared by kant.
