Any good, trust-worthy literature on meditation? As far as I've seen, there is a overabundance of scams, useless self-help trash, cult-like programs, and more in general I always have the impression most of these people are trying to sell me something.
Any book that bypasses all of this corruption?
Also any experience on meditation and how it affected your discipline, your mood and your appreciation for art?
Just look up mindfulness and call it a day.

mindfulness in plain english is okay
The Mind Illuminated is pretty cool. Simple to start and follow whilst building up ideas and useful descriptions as it becomes more advanced and in depth.
just breathe and stop thinking lmao it isn't hard
slightly unrelated but once i smoked up and breathed heavily for 20 minutes and i reached an orgasmic state, never been able to recreate it since. good luck.

Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind is good
I meditate daily, and I feel more happy, not carried away by thoughts while enjoying day to day things more
