there's only one good light novel, haruhi.

if you want to read an actual novel thats like nhk, read Dostoyevsky.

It's a short read, I think it's worth it. The anime adaptation is a little more fun, but a lot of that fun is also filler in the end.

I don't know if it's a light novel (I think it might actually be a good series), but Kino's Journey is great. I think a lot of /lit/ would appreciate it.

It's about this girl who travels around to these different countries, staying in each one for only three days. Each episode is a short, philosophical story.

And funnily enough, almost every non-trash LN has an anime adaptation, and since LN's are as barebones as one can get when it comes to literature, the anime is usually the best version of the story.

That anime hit a little too close to home for me.

Log Horizon novels are really great, and go into way more detail than any of the adaptations.
