where did romantics stand politically, /lit/?
Why does it matter?
depends. but probably eco fascism

i find the whole thing very contradictory
a movement defined by emotion, passion, and care for each individual human's feelings,
that is nationalistic and like you said, most likely fascist when applied to political ideology
am i missing something or do the two not go hand in hand

They were liberals. One of the biggest literary fueds of the 19th century was between classicists and Romantics. Classicists were pro-French Revolution and classicists were anti-revolution.

*Romantics were pro-French Revolution
Although it should be noted that Wordsworth became a conservative in his later life.

signs of fascism are
>extreme nationalism
>authoritarianism
>corporatism
none of those are against human feelings, emotion, or passion
learn some politics pal
>>9403042
>extreme nationalism
creates contempt for those belonging to other nations, so while fascists can have love and compassion for those that live in their own country, the same can rarely, if ever, be extended to those belonging to a different country
>authoritarianism
promotes hierarchy and values some humans over others, not very all-loving
>corporatism
speaks for itself
>>9403065
nationalism is different from imperialism. Nationalist nations can love each other, look at Germany and Japan, or Germany and Italy. They were fine with each otherr
hierachy has nothing to do with hatred. Fascism hierachy says that every class is valued and should be celebrated, not that aristocrats are superior to lower class workers.
Oh, and i bet you think corporatism is corporations working with the government, right? Wrong, it's about workers unions managing their own types of work.
