The first book "the sword in the stone" is by far the easiest to read and moves at a good pace. when you add all the books together it seems big but you'll find yourself through TSITS pretty quick.

Reread it this past summer because I really enjoyed it as a kid-- still an enormously pleasant. Another fantasy series I enjoyed as a kid was Farmer's Riverworld series. Anyone read that lately? Does it hold up? I remember loving it at about 13.
