Getting into reading, I was suggested to start with this book. It was enjoyable at some parts but other parts it felt like it was really stretched out. Any other recommendations /lit/ ?
The Fall by Camus
I watched the anime, it was alright
Read Nana by Zola

i love that book. have you read catch-22?
also, i'd suggest don quixote, but read it as though it were serious. you might try some russian literature, like crime and punishment. oh, and definitely check out some dickens, like little dorrit or david copperfield.
1984, The Master and Margarita, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
Least difficult to most difficult, go.

OP here, am firmly right wing and even I found 1984 boring. To me it was a shitty love story wrapped in a thin veil of political discourse.
