I find it appalling. Most of the authors in the world are sincere and heartfelt about their work. Nevertheless, the things I've seen from editors and agents are usually jokes about how pathetic they are - almost as if they hate them passionately.

They do hate them passionately. They hate what they failed to become, and are not. I'm just thankful that I have the proper business connections and don't have to deal with all of that bs when i'm ready to publish my first novel.

My family has worked in the media industry for a long time. A business partner of mine can get anything I write published and have it be a company asset. Free marketing and what not. I'm a little fortunate.
