Circle words or phrases that stand out to you and think about what they have in common.
>>
Just make shit up. There is no way to fail a humanities class.
>>
Btw I want an A+

Just read each stanza and think how it makes you feel. Translate that into academic speech by saying "this line is evocative of sublime erections" etc. If you really can't think of anything, just identify the types of rhymes, idioms, metaphors, etc. Just anything you can think of off the top of your head.

look at the adjectives, because the choice of adjectives shows the writer's intention.

e.g. is a an oak tree dismal or proud?

Also other people in the class seem to know what poems mean way faster than I do. Any solution to this or is it just cos I'm dumb?

You might be retarded. Or maybe you don't read poems as often? How old are you anyways?

19. Second year English lit.
I dunno, once I get what the poem's about I can usually get some smart stuff to say about it, it's just that first part.
Am planning on spending a good 10 minutes trying to get to the bottom of it before I start writing, so hopefully that helps.

since when /lit/ is so filled with scrubs?
Just throw a bunch of meme words and quote nietzsche like all highschooler, it'll be enough to impress.

Wew, just realized this episode was an homage to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
