Don't read this. Copplestone is a moron who tried to use philosophy to argue that god exists against bertrand russell. Don't take charlatans like this seriously.

Forget what you've read and read an actual history of philosophy - for example, Copleston's.

It was my introduction to philosophy.
Just read the entire history of philosophy on your own.
Use Russell's book as a guide on who to read. Russell really doesn't like the German Idealists - and it shows.
Start with Plato, then Aristotle
Here's links to their complete works

(I know you could just pirate them, but believe me - you're not going to want any pirated philosophy books. The translators will know.)
After that, I would recommend reading Descartes -> Berkeley -> Hume -> Kant -> Hegel
Or instead of Hegel, you could go Schopenhauer -> Nietzsche

Do you have any idea how many philosophers thought that philosophy proves God exists? You're dismissing:
Descartes
Spinoza
Leibniz
Anselm
Aquinas
Augustine
Berkeley
Kant
And many many others.

don't you know that all these philosophers were actually atheists and only pretended to be theists to avoid persecution from the medieval nazi army called "Inquisition"?

Nice to know. I'm buying it right now, thanks for the suggestion, anon!
