Well shit... That that image wasn't dodoitsu. The proper form is 7-7-7-5. The creator of the image is probably retarded (or my english pronounciation is fucking horrendous).
First you need to get an introductory book. I have Rhymes Reason by Hollander decent enough and tells you the basic mechanics. Don't worry if it doesn't make sense at first. Next you should read the classic poets: Homer, Hesiod, Horace, Virgil, Ovid, etc. After that get an anthology, I prefer Pound's 'Confucius to Cummings' it is very short and you'll be able to read it back to front, and it has some helpful tips in the book for how to read poetry. Like 'Read aloud, don't stop at the end of the line, note punctuation' and read aloud your favorite poems.
Buy collections of your favorite poets. If they are from a certain era like Romantic or Modernist explore those areas as well.
Find some books of poetry criticism or criticism from a poet.
And so on.
