Mine, to an extent, when it chooses to come out
The antagonist/ second protagonist sees an illusion of a replacement friend for the one he killed. The keywords id attribute to him are rage and loneliness
Just like the protagonist is based on myself, so is the antagonist. As a kid I befriended the bullied/ bully of my class and in turn became the same things myself, only the two of us being against the rest. After over 10 years, it has been a common theme that he keeps lying to me, breaking my trust, not trusting me properly and even stealing the women I might have been interested in. The concept of what friendship exactly is and how much "purer" it is than lust based love is a central theme that I transferred into the character.

Elric of Melnibone.
I'd rather point you towards science fiction though.
It's the central theme in Neuromancer.and also very common in Philip K. Dick's works.
If Kafka is considered fantasy then literally everything he wrote
A lot of Ursula K Le Guins work portray solitary characters
