just finished the general prologue, so far having a load of fun with the language.
is there any specific order in which to read the tales?
what's your favourite tale and why?
My favourites are the Knight's Tale, for the story, and the Miller's Tale, for the banter.

damn, thought more people on this board liked chaucer
There's no final authorial order, and scholars have suggested several different orders, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
My favorite is the Pardoner's Tale just because the guy's so blatant in his hypocrisy and his story's probably the most fun.
Best Tales:
Miller
Nun's Priest
Pardonner
Summoner's Prologue
Wife of Bath

How do anglos pronounce chaucer?
I quite like the Knight's take, for its plot, and the Miller's tale, for its witty exchanges.

Sure, but there are several tales that are clearly supposed to follow others, and of course the knight's tale goes first.
