Yes it's worth your time/money.
First book was very good, second ok and death's end was the best. He could have played around a little more in the third book imo.

I've read the first and second. I thought they were great! Definitely going to pick up the third.
I found the characters to be a bit uninteresting but the ideas and plot are excellent.
And it's cool that it takes place over such immense timespans (the second one over 200 years).

Yes, definitely one of the best in hard sci-fi.

After half way through the second book, the first one felt like an intro to me. Not in bad way, the whole thing is just so huge in scale. You need the first book to grasp the things in the second book. (Haven't read the third one yet, but guess it's going to continue like that.)

A lot of people dislike Luo Ji from the second book because he's arrogant and selfish. Somehow I found him interesting. Even liked him.
