Should I read this?

yea. ive read all issues of this thing, and ive only ever read six other manga books, dont think ive ever seen more than a few episodes of any anime show, and just a handful of movies. it's a cat-and-mouse game plot, the first four issues are perfect. the rest aren't really worth reading, ton of filler, but if someone edited them down into their good parts there might be 3-4 issues worth of quality there. tried the anime adaptation, it's unwatchable.

I-Is that bad, anon-kun?

Sure, why not? There are worse things you could spend your time on. Also, it's pretty easy to blow through them. It doesn't have anywhere near the intellectual or time commitment that reading a book has.
Read Sherlock Holmes, L is the best character anyway, but he is just a tame Holmes

I made a comment recently about a game on The Guardian and somebody told me that I couldn't appreciate it because I clearly didn't have an in-depth understanding of nuanced anime like Death Note. Made me laugh because only that morning I'd been reading essays about the psychoanalytical themes in Evangelion.
Is Deathnote even in the same league as Eva or am I okay in assuming that guy was just another Guardian pseud? Not to imply I'm not a pseudo as well.
