>be me, in school
>somone says something
>randomly get reminded of a feeling/aesthetic from my childhood. It's just a recollection of something I had thought of when I was younger, I have no idea what it really was or what it meant, but I felt it was stronger than any sensation I have felt for a while. I feel a high, and decide to learn more about this
Any books on this /lit/?
you've never heard of In Search of Lost Time? It's exactly what you're describing

I've been having this same elusive feeling of seeing things as though I was a child. It happens when the sun is out. I had no idea that Proust's work dealt with this. Thank you!
holy shit dude, I've felt exactly that. not just in school though. In fact, almost never in school. It's usually when I'm out and about.
It's so rare and wonderful, though. It's the most amazing thing I experience, it's like I can feel an emotion beyond words. And it's different every time.
I feel it whenever I can tell the seasons are changing, you know?

>In Search of Lost Time
of course I've heard of it, but thought it was mostly a meme because of how long it was.
desu didn't think anything would show up, thanks

I feel it anywhere as well. It feels like something to live for.

So, which translation of In Search of Lost Time is recommended?
>>9282280
Not a /lit/ guy or particularly smart, but I read Swann's Way and there were a few passages that perfectly described this feeling. Made it worthwhile to read through the rest of the stuff that I didn't really get.
But then for a lot of books it feels like there are maybe 2 or 3 sentences that stick with me with me, even if I don't remember anything else about the book.

Moncrieff's translation is considered definitive and most modern editions use that or are a revision of it. Penguin came out with a new translation in 2004, but every volume is translated by a different person, so that's not recommended even though I've heard that individually the translations are pretty good.

ya I agree, ">be me" is a cancerous, superfluous addition to the original greentext format.
Here, let me show you how it's done.
