start with magazines and online journals. You might not get paid, but a resume can help.

I have not the slightest clue where to start searching for those. Just a google search doesn't tell me the ins and outs
You will only publish in philosophy if you've gone through the right academic channels and have at least your masters

Yeah somehow I dont think your philosophy is gonna be any good.
If you cant even find the journals you want to get published in, I'm about 100% sure you will get rejected every time without a response.
Good luck though.
And because I dont want this board to turn to complete shit.
Here's a link another anon posted if you just lurked moar.

do you read any journals or magazines? Find some you like, read them for a few months, see what your "peers" are talking about and "enter into conversation with their writing". Find a shared language and shared interests.
You might just start with letters to the editor type stuff, or emailing writers you like and engaging in private discussion.
And really, attending a school will help you find a community and get a resume. It isn't as superficial as it seems. You will learn things and you will make connections. There will be student publications, you can band together with your contemporaries and publish together.
I take it this is your first foray into the world of employment, OP?
