Is there an age limit to read this book? Never read it in high school because my class voted to read The Catcher in the Rye instead. I'm 24.
still a virgin?

Then fuck 1984, you got serious fucking problems to focus on.

Not really. And the fact you're so preoccupied about it tells me you might have some issues yourself.

Reflection
I read it when i was 18 and found it incredibly juvenile so I'd recommend skipping it if you're an adult already.
There isn't an age limit to read classic or universally renowned/referenced lit. They're all fair game.
Contemporary YA stuff is off-limits, though
I'm 26 and only just reading it. It isn't fantastic.
I found Animal Farm thoroughly enjoyable however.

That movie adaption is really good btw. I'd watch that instead of reading the book. Especially the old actor in the end (the who's afraid of V W guy) was fantastic. And the shot of those grassy hills that gets repeated is gorgeous.
By the way, what's the deal with being too old for reading it? It's not that long and it'll be nice to know what the fuss is about. The book isn't the masterpiece plebs claim it to be but I'd say that it's still worth your time.
Or read A Farewell To Catalonia. It's Orwells non-fiction account of fighting in the Spanish revolution, super interesting subject.

I just feel like I'm as bad as people who read YA by reading a high school-tier book.
Anyway, I'm about 100 pages in and do find it interesting. I wish there were more information on Emmanuel Goldstein.

You should read it for the historical importance alone...
but
it's a shitty book
