Aside from classics such The Prince and Republic, what are the best works of literature concerning political science/theory/philosophy? Bonus points if non-Western.

Also, would anyone happen to know of a website/bookstore which would offer Spanish editions of these books?

You might enjoy Leviathan by Hobbes.

A Theory of Justice by John Rawls
and
Anarchy State and Utopia by Robert Nozick

The two best/major political theory books in the last 50 years or so

This is somewhat related but does anyone know if Mao's "On Guerrilla Warfare" or Che Guevara's version is a good read or not?

Is under the radar of every reader, read "The Motorcycle Diaries" instead, is the best from mr. Guevara.

Here is my reading list (too big for 4chan) http://pastebin.com/8h3Fya1q

capital, marx

I'm a /his/ and /sci/ blend so what I've read is "the dictators handbook", "predisposed", "our political nature" and "the righteous mind".
They are political science with the second and third using an evolutionary perspective and the last one a psychological perspective.

Hegel's Reason in History isn't bad. Pretty short and relatively readable, gives an overview of the dialectical development of the World Spirit and how that gives rise to history.

>48 laws of power.
I keep hearing it's a great book, but rappers (not Nas or Pac) and common celebrities endorsing it makes me skeptical. Is it really a good book?

This thread sucks

Read Max Weber's politics as a vocation, then read competing theories about the social contract.

Plato's Crito is worth taking a look at as well.

I'm doing a masters in Economics and we had to read these:

Adam smith, Wealth of nations
David Ricardo : On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation
John Locke: Two Treatises of Government
Max Weber: The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
Alfred Marshall: Principles of Economics
Thomas Piketty: Capital in the 21st century (I live in a socialist state)

Chomsky is a linguistics major he can't calculate tax on a microwave oven.
>>
>>9260407
fany you didn't read any hayek, keynes or such comparable literature when dealing with fuking economics
>>
>>9260432

That's for next year maybe I didn't understand why we had to read Max Weber either but oh well.
>>
>>9260438
Funny to read Wealth of Nations and not have Das Kapital go with it too they are good pairing
>>
>>9260439

Das kapital is more a philosphy it doesn't have any economican principles. To get into Marxist economics you have to read Karl Kautsy.

Unfortunately Marxism already has been disproven Theoretically by his value theory and law of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall.
>>
>>9260459
*economical.

just because he fucked two ideas doesn't mean the entire book is unreadable diarrhea vomit garbage mate.
