Reading the Valis trilogy about halfway through Divine Invasion and enjoying it. (I've read the novel collection and thsee are the final three).
Now I'm wondering if the Exegesis is worth getting, it's almost my birthday and gotta come up with a present my parents can give
Can someone give comparison of the trilogy and the exegesis.
Or just a description of it, is it readable? interesting relating to the novels?
I wouldn't mind having a view in his mind but if it's unreadable...
Or, nonenglish native so not sure if this or is correct, give your view on it.
Also: I don't mind doing some research to understand parts better I. E. Reading historical texts or other books.
Tl:dr;
How did you end up here?
Also: a quick rundown of the exegesis in a sales pitch.
I havent read it yet but what kind of shitty parents do you have that a 10$ book is what you're hoping for.

What's wrong with wanting books for your Bday?

Hard cover it's 37 something euro.
Not shitty at all, they still want to give a present that I might/hopefully enjoy.

I'm actually 300 pages through the Exegesis. You might like it if and only if you are interested in mysticism.
It's the most interesting, infuriating, strange, weird, paradoxical, funny, captivating, detailed, maddening, and occasionally dull book you'll ever read in your life.
In my opinion, he DID have a mystical experience, but found it very hard to explain. But in trying to explain it, he puts together a huge amount of differing philosophies, religions, and mystical beliefs that are fascinating to read and potentially useful/interesting for your own life, if, again, you are into mysticism.
