Literature as we know it is dying.
Maybe the AI programmers of the future will come up with a "kind" of novel but not the kind that will be relevant to the majority of society for whom eventaully AI will be dumbed down for ease of use the same way literature is becoming.

AI can already write novels. Some AI written novel got submitted to an unpublished novel contest and placed in the top ten.
