I want to read trashy books for a bit but I'm too embarrassed to go and buy some, might just get some online but I like going into town to buy books from waterstones cause I can hang out there for a bit and browse.

i spent the money i had saved to go to college in books that i don't read and now i have to work for another year just to go there and survive the first year; and maybe work more while studying and sell my books to finish it.

i live in a commie country so i don't pay college just my living expenses there; books are really expensive where i live and i bought all of them in their original language, including some in latin and greek

I've developed a habit where I only read from the start of chapters to the end. I never stop reading in the middle of a chapter. I either stop reading at the end of a chapter or if I'm interrupted or too tired to finish the chapter I just go back to the start and read it all over again the next sitting

Also this practice has left me without reading for the last week because I've been pressed for time so I don't bother starting with a chapter because I know I will not finish it in one sitting.

I'm also reading 3 books at this time so I spend time trying to choose which one to read and end up without time to finish the chapter.

I haven't read a book in years. I've never read the classics or the Greeks. I look at books on Wikipedia and paraphrase what I read on there to join in discussions on /lit/. When challenged, I always assert that I read a book every two weeks.

i try to hide my poor grasp of the english language by typing everything in lowercase and using intentional typos to make it look like i am just too lazy to type correctly

when confronted about my bad grammar i just say i am drunk and speak a native language that make it hard to learn proper english

i am actually an esl-fag but people with my native language usually have good english, i can't into english because i never bothered to pick a book about grammar or take class about it. i just learned the language by shitposting and reading things in english with a dictionary

i also don't know any grammar rules of my native language but i, supposedly, have an "excelent domain of the language"--words from my lit professor

I think this is a good idea actually. I've noticed whenever I tend to get "stuck" and unable to finish a book it's when I stop in the middle of a chapter. It can be difficult to start in the middle of a chapter--it interrupts the flow of the reading.

I really hate it when authors have extremely long chapters that make always stopping at the end of a chapter impossible.
