I love niles. Never watched past season 5 or so but he was great.
Btw is Frasier the closest /lit/ will get to a tv comedy show?

nah, there're lots of good ones
Newsroom -- not the thing on now but the dark Canadian comedy from the 90s

Absolute Power is choice too and Extras, though those aren't too literary

I get the meaning, but she really is a kind of limit he cannot pass. Nonetheless, what do his devotees strive for when they aim their arrows at the sun? Everything. The impossible. It's a strange myth. It converts losing into winning by insisting that it's the aim that counts, not the outcome. And yet laurel leaves crowned the heads of the winners of all those contests in the games sacred to him.. as if 'winning' meant something beyond the myth, a myth of failure, that gave it 'meaning' in the first place!

I don't know which season it is, but I always stop after Niles and Daphne get together, show is pretty much shit after that.
But yeah, Frasier is actually pretty /lit/, with the first season actually unironically being sort of highbrow, before it dumbs down a bit to a lowbrow comedy in a highbrow world. Still one of my favorites.

Oh and Bored to Death is actually really good too.
