Was racism ultimately responsible for his fall?

Did Shakespeare even intend for the character to be black, or is that something white guilt attributes to the text? Like does Shakespeare even suggest that Othello is a black man? Like where does he even say it besides cover art and shit.

He's a Moor which could veer from a full Subsaharan African to simply an Arab-Berber who are not significantly more tanned than Venetians.

In the context of Elizabethan England either could be lumped together as "black"
