what authors get straight to the point and not waste my time with irrelevant descriptions and background informations?
i just want to read a clean plot with good character development.
i haven't found anything that suits that description till now, so i can't even tell you what would be a good example

>wants the sex without the foreplay
don't be surprised when you don't orgasm.
You're after the minimalists, friend. There's plenty of them. Start with Hemingway and Carver.

to stay with that analogy: i want a book that's like sex on an animalistic level.
hot headed, intense, fast paced, hard, greedy and satisafcting

any specific recommendations from those two?
i can remember picking up "the old man and the sea" at the library s a teen but bringing it back unread because i was bored to death.
maybe i wasnmt ready or maybe itms not for me. but i'm willing to give him a second chance

Carver is a short story specialist. I enjoyed What We Talk About When We Talk About Love (the collection). For Hemingway, The Sun Also Rises.

>that description of sex
wait, have you ever had sex before?
you would know that there is no satisfaction after sex.
anyhow, a book for you would be doctor faustus by thomas mann. or the man without qualities by musil. both are fast paced thrill rides, without any stupid character development or descriptive moments.

i was looking at that one. i think i'll order it right now. thanks for the recommendation.
also, he has a book about writing. might be interesting. it's not often that authors that actually publish fiction also write on writing (yeah i know there are a few, but more can never hurt).

the question here would rathe be, have you everr had good sex? because i know i had sex like that. not everytime ofc, but often enough
also, i specifically said i want character development. just not that whole "it was a rainy day. the droplets on the window formed little streams that reminded me of my time with erin - erin with her hair like a wild cherry tree that got tousled by the rough wind on the north shore" bullshit.
thanks for the recs. i'll take a look
