What should I read to stop degradation of my mind? I'm coming to this website on daily basis since 2009, and things that happend to my head are atrocious. Basically I'm addicted to stream of info-garbage this site provides, can't focus on anything for a long time, and can't build a proper sentence in a serious conversation. The only pro is that I somehow improved my english (passive part mostly), and maybe I'm a bit happier than before.

You should stop coming here, retard. All the useful advice that this place can provide has long been condensed into wikis and chart pics. The only reason to be here is to waste time or quickly get some specific recommendations.

>stop coming here

The problem is that this fucking place became a substitute of social life for me. I don't know man.

the only way to keep your brain in decent shape is through human interaction. and i'm not even kidding.
i speak from experience: my eloquence used to be "notorious" among my friends and acquaintaces but after spending one year in severe isolation with extremely reduced human interaction I can feel to have lost a great deal of my wit.

So get a social life.

cold turkey. Take a week off of work, unplug your phone and your router. And keep a stack of books on hand. The first day is hell. It gets better.
I stopped cold turkey going on 4chan and 9gag (9gag was considerably easier because it's an unmitigated shitshow, and if I had to see one more fucking cheeky post about how some off brand chinese instant noodle was "cock flavored" I was going to punch the next 14 year old I saw in the throat) also I came back to 4chan.
MY POINT IS, it's possible, and sometimes you'll go there automatically at first, but then you call yourself a fuckhead and close the tab.
Also, don't be afraid to start small. Read some short stories. It'll get easier.

>quit the internet
>life becomes extremely boring
>so boring that reading books becomes the ultimate form of entertainment
One day I will manage to quit this hell

This is the way.
We're alienated from reality, we should re-learn to live at a slower pace. Only then books will start to actually touch us again.
Dont mind my use of plural, Im self-prescribing.

Did you just say that reading books is kinda thing of the past?

No.

>Did you just say that reading books is kinda thing of the past?
Reading books as entertainment is a thing of the past, unless you got used to it in your childhood.
It is still worth doing so, since most modern entertainment lacks in contents. There are only so many good TV series, but as soon as you approach books you have enough god-tier contents to fill 10 lifetimes.
I mean, why the fuck are we spending time on /lit/? We can all see that it's a waste of time, the fact that we can't stop doing it just show us that we're addicted to it.
Acquire a taste for reading. Set aside a certain time every day to read, whether it's for 30 minutes or an hour. Start with that and hopefully with time you can make a good habit out of reading.

Agreeing with this.
