If you are English, start with modern poems and slowly work yourself down to shakespeare and keats.

You really have to read a lot of shit to get the hang of it. Finding rhyming words is easy, making a poems is not.

I'm a senior and high school and I recently completed two epic poems each about 300~ pages long.

How do I go about asking for publication? I don't want to blow it being so young. Do I just email random publishers ?

Yes I have a small collection of poems (each ranging from either 5-14 lines) but only one or two have been published in obscure magazines.

I have edited to the best of my ability but it does get hard because poetry is so precise.

Do I just email and go, "Hello, blah blah blah epic poem is mine"

try to publish a few more small poems first
I would even argue that publishing a collection would be easier (all the while you can be tinkering with your epic poem)
don't worry about trying to retain some savant high-score for publishing an epic poem in a rush in high school

This. Even if your epic poems are the shit (forgive me for being skeptical about this) you have to think about what you want published from a publisher's perspective.

It's very unlikely that a contemporary epic poem would be considered marketable by any publisher, especially considering you're almost entirely unknown. Start by getting more publications in poetry journals and magazines, or at the very least just by improving and promoting your "personal brand." Poetry blogs can be good for this, the most popular of which are on tumblr, fyi, but you have to be willing to put your poetry out there for free. Of course this blows, but it does mean more people will be exposed to your work (which is what you want, right?) and eventually can translate into publishing deals.

Literary communities surrounding universities can be very helpful, should you decide to go. This is how I first got and continue to get published.
