So is the lamy safari the best opt-in for babby's first fountain pen?
Does it smudge much?
Feel free to post any other stationary related stuff.

Depends on the ink and paper. Imo Pilot Metro is way better starter pen, cheaper too.

bump so to monitor this thread
I bought a Parker Vector about a month ago and it's been great. Doesn't seem to smudge at all (and I'm a lefty). Most of the criticism of it seems to be that you can't swap the nibs, so you're generally going to be using a medium. Plus it's light, durable and designed for ease of use.

I'm FP collector and I've never known the appeal of this thing. I just cant do it. The best entry level pen right now is the TWSBI 580. If you can spend a little more then I'd go for the TWSBI vac mini. If you need to spend a little less then go for the TWSBI eco. Honestly. I own multiple $1000+ pens but I find myself reaching for my vac mini super often
I love my hand fedora
Are we talking about fountain pens?

That's a gorgeous pen anon.
You're correct about TWSBI too, it's a far better choice. Lamy pens have inferior build quality and scratchier nibs, and really aren't that much cheaper for a tool that will last for years.
i use a mixture of vampire blood and holy water for a pastel rose-blush
If you use an expensive pen then you are a pseud. No meme. No joke.

Not really dude. It's something me and my dad bond on and it's a hobby of mine. It's like record collecting or something. When it's a passion, the money becomes less important. $1000 is a lot for a pen, but it's nothing for a passion

This doesn't change anything I said. You are a pseud defending being a pseud.

is fountain pens a sign of autism?
anyways, safaris are overrated although that doesnt mean theyre bad.
the nib isnt great. jinhao x450 or the hero 889 are the true starter pens.
