So besides O'Connor, Faulkner and McCarthy are there any other Southern Gothic authors worth looking at?

I'm not familiar at all with the "Southern Gothic" phrase, could anyone provide a list or something ? Would Elmore Leonard and Larry Brown qualify for this label ? I read a few novels by Leonard and they were great (usually just western stories but not always). Also, is Tennessee Williams part of that 'movement' ?
Carson McCullers was also recommended to me by some trustworthy source.
What about Flanney O'Connor ? Hell, I don't even know if it's a guy or a girl. That name sounds so... dunno. I was picturing an annoting british victorian writer. What's going on in his/her novels ?
William Gay was a relatively unknown fucking genius of the genre. Pic related is my favorite.

Is "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" some SJW shit?

No. It's about our desire to make another person truly understand us and the impossibility of it.
