"The Notion of Expenditure". It's a 15-pages essay that kind of sums up "The Accursed Share", even it was written earlier (so it doesn't exactly sum it up, you got it). It's great, very clear, thought-provoking, surprising, all that you want from an essay.

"Blue of Noon" and "Story of the Eye" (shorter, dirtier) are very nice short novels.
