lets see what /lit/ does without a bookself. I want random piles of books everywhere. I'll start.
I'm good with organization, what I have a problem with is shelf space.
I've got stacks of books organized by author, chronologically, just not on shelves.
I have litrally no room for shelves. I try to keep series together. And all.this dont even have all my comic books.
Why haven't you thrown Terry Goodkind's books out yet?

My organization is too good for this. I even have children's books sorted by reading level.

Damn OP my desk is haphazard as fuck but your stacks are actually falling over.

I like this. Very comfy.
Pic is my desk.
Front left are new purchases.
Rear left tall stack are finished books that I haven't written about yet.
Front center is Aristotle vol. 1 which is kicking my ass.
Rear center are some loebs and a book on classical music that an anon here recommended.
Right front is KJV bible and Montaigne, usually read at least one of each daily.
Right center is mostly what I've got lined up to read next, just a bunch of novels.
Right rear are some notebooks, a volume of Euripides I haven't quite finished, and an english poetry anthology.
Very far right are my latin notes/flashcards/workbook.
DESU I can't feel comfy if I don't have books around. Even if I clean my desk it goes back to looking like this within a few days because stuff gets pulled from the shelves for reference, or I just want to be reminded of what I'm gonna be reading next, or I want some books on hand because I read them daily but only a bit at a time.
