define what you mean by smarter. when people say smarter, they usually refer to quicker and deeper thinking and ability to learn. Which I think is facilitated more by philosophy and mathematics, in its complexity and depth, than the artistry of literature, which is more about emotion and artistic sense than abstract thought.
