>Being an Academiacuck in the age of the internet
are you posting this because you are afraid of going to school and subsequently are indulging some solipsistic fantasy of being an autodidact and showing up all those cuck cohorts you secretly wish you could join also, but you're too afraid of, so you're shitposting obvious bait on /lit/ instead

Academics have never been needed more. And alas, once they're actually needed they're nowhere to be found.

Why would I spend money or my time doing something I could do for less in both?

With very few exceptions, people who don't pursue higher education are stupider than people who have completed higher education, they're just too stupid to realise how stupid they are.
Even if you don't plan on doing anything with your degree vocation wise, it's still worth having those years being forced to be investigative, to really think critically, to create and stand behind strong and convincing arguments, etc etc.
You can teach yourself intellectual facts easily without a degree (a lot of which are produced in Academia), but you can't easily teach yourself intellectual skills.
The problem is that you're clearly more interested in telling people that you're self-teaching than actually doing it. You don't ACTUALLY want to learn, you just found out that learning shit could help you feel justified in being smug.
