My question to you is how much philosophy do you have under your belt? You'll pretty much have to have the entire canon mapped out to fully flesh it out.

I'm not OP, but I would like to read the work. I've only read a bit of philosophy thus far, however.

Plato's Republic, Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, and Phaedo
Aristotle's Poetics and Physics
Epictetus
Kierkegaard's The Sickness Unto Death
Sartre's Being and Nothingness and Existentialism is a Humanism
William Barret's Irrational Man (a summary of Existentialist philosophy)
Kant's Progelomena to Any Future Metaphysics

Just give it a try! If you don't get far just drop it and read it again at a later point. You've already read some Plato, Aristotele and Kant, which is great. I recommend reading Aristoteles Metaphysics, it's hard as hell but it prepares you for serious metaphysics, which is what Process And Reality is.

Definitely read the entry on process philosophy in the SEP.

I read a non-annotated MacMillan FP edition, and it was tough going. Of the secondary lit Thomas Hosinski's Stubborn Fact and Creative Advance was by far the most useful volume. Whitehead's philosophy is radically different-- physical, mathematic, yet everything turns upon a point-of-view that insists (and therefore subsists) upon the points-of-view of absolutely every thing else-- from a subatomic particle to a coke can absolutely everything possesses at least a modicum of what we call 'subjectivity'-- and upon this radicalized, extremely alive 'nature' his entite philosophy turns. It's seductive once youre able to convince yourself that youre getting it. Five years since I read it.

i have a degree in philosophy and have studied the canon up until the german idealists, and then contemporary analytic and continental (basically skipped Frege/Russel/Whitehead/Heidegger). i am most familiar with rationalism/empiricism and german idealism.
