Naughty Recommendation Thread

Admit it, you want to read some weird shit, but google is useless and finding books on tv tropes is stupid and an effort in futility and pain.

Post what you want, and help an anon out.

I'm looking for a book where kids have to act like adults.

Especially in some kind of supernatural crisis. Why? Who knows. Is that a fetish? Can fetishes be non-sexual?
>>
>>9132175
It's called having an interest or a hobby, you dumb millennial.
>>
>>9132188
My hobby is reading about children acting like adults? I think you're confused.
>>
>>9132194
You clearly don't have a hobby because you're uninteresting.
>>
>>9132198
I have hobbies. I collect colors and skulls and rocks. I read, I do art. I buy a bunch of shit to do art things and then I don't do art. I like history and languages. I read. I write. I pretend I don't hate myself.

>I'm looking for a book where kids have to act like adults.

This is every single young adult / adolescent book ever. It's the entire point of the genre.
>>
>>9132239
Yeah, but not shit.
>>
>>9132244

All of them are shit because they are written for children and emotionally stunted adults still trying to process their childhoods. The mediocrity is a source of comfort. Exhibit A: Grown men and women who still rave about Harry Potter.
>>
>>9132267
No, I mean, is there a not YA novel with this plot.
>>
>I want a story with <subject matter>
Three posts later
>I want to argue about <subject matter>
Then someone cries about millenials and the thread is derailed. Never change, /lit/.
>>
>>9132284
Isn't it great? We can all grow old together and yell at those damn kids with their lack of decency and standards.

I want to read a book about female bullying, a kinda hot and descriptive one.
>>
>>9132477
Like... the whole book is about girls bullying other girls?
>>
>>9132504
Yes.
>>
>>9132511
Huh.
I remember reading one book when I was a kid, but fuck if I know what it was. Something like "The ____ Squad" I found this:
https://www.bustle.com/articles/22810-if-youre-obsessed-with-mean-girls-youll-think-these-9-ya-books-are-so-fetch
I mean, Mean Girls is kinda what you want, right?
That's all I know. Sorry.
>>
I have no desire to read weird shit. Everything I read should make me a better person and better writer.

Just new sci fi and fantasy shit that doesn't lean heavily on romance to get the job done. Sanderson is okay?
>>
>>9133455
how new?
>>
>>9132175
>Can fetishes be non-sexual?
No, but something similar. You're a fan of a trope or element. This time it is children being pushed to adult roles. Either you like a challenge or you want to see naivete, or perhaps even failure and corniness.
>>
I want to read an epic. Preferably a scifi setting in space or colony.. Not earth.

Something akin to Mars, Dune, Star Wars
>>
>>9133486
have you read the stargate novelizations? or, well, the first one.
>>
>>9133479
>naivete, or perhaps even failure and corniness
no... trauma, helplessness, desperation until, ultimately, persevering and found family.

i assume the adults are either gone or being kept out of the loop.

the more trauma the better and role reversal is definitely a plus.

so far, i can only get my fix from teen wolf fanfiction
>>
>>9132008
Can I ask for anything?
How about a book that depicts a sweet romance between a little girl and an adult?
That's actually well written if possible.

She ruins it by growing up and getting ugly and bitchy.

All of them?

Is there a book written from the perspective of a ghost? I mean not like a living person that can walk though wallsLOL, but from the mindset of a spirit wandering the Material world.
>>
>>9137502
Maybe Bangkok 8? The main character is kind of monotone, and there's this weird sortof magical realism where you're not sure if it's real or just the mc hallucinating them.
>>
>>9137283
But I already read that.
>>
>>9137502
Yeah, just about every work of fiction written in the third-person. It's just not made obvious. On the other hand, Whitman's poem The Sleepers fills half your bill.

That's such a huge category, but fuck me, I can't think of a single one. The Sorrows of Young Werther?

Read more Baudelaire.

Remember, my love, the object we saw
That beautiful morning in June:
By a bend in the path a carcass reclined
On a bed sown with pebbles and stones;

Her legs were spread out like a lecherous whore,
Sweating out poisonous fumes,
Who opened in slick invitational style
Her stinking and festering womb.

The sun on this rottenness focused its rays
To cook the cadaver till done,
And render to Nature a hundredfold gift
Of all she'd united in one.

And the sky cast an eye on this marvellous meat
As over the flowers in bloom.
The stench was so wretched that there on the grass
You nearly collapsed in a swoon.

The flies buzzed and droned on these bowels of filth
Where an army of maggots arose,
Which flowed with a liquid and thickening stream
On the animate rags of her clothes.

And it rose and it fell, and pulsed like a wave,
Rushing and bubbling with health.
One could say that this carcass, blown with vague breath,
Lived in increasing itself.

And this whole teeming world made a musical sound
Like babbling brooks and the breeze,
Or the grain that a man with a winnowing-fan
Turns with a rhythmical ease.

The shapes wore away as if only a dream
Like a sketch that is left on the page
Which the artist forgot and can only complete
On the canvas, with memory's aid.

From back in the rocks, a pitiful bitch
Eyed us with angry distaste,
Awaiting the moment to snatch from the bones
The morsel she'd dropped in her haste.

And you, in your turn, will be rotten as this:
Horrible, filthy, undone,
O sun of my nature and star of my eyes,
My passion, my angel in one!

Yes, such will you be, o regent of grace,
After the rites have been read,
Under the weeds, under blossoming grass
As you moulder with bones of the dead.

Ah then, o my beauty, explain to the worms
Who cherish your body so tine,
That I am the keeper for corpses of love
Of the form, and the essence divine!

>>
>>9148757
no prob. i'll keep that in mind.
>>
>>9148757
Oh man, to be honest, I avoid romance as much as I can. And depressing books too. I looked through all my books, but I haven't found much. Depending on what you want- are you sure you want depressing? Here are some fucked up books, that are kind of depressing and involving relationships...
When Will There Be Good Times? by Kate Atkinson, which is a crime novel, but is in turns funny and really fucking depressing.
Horns by Joe Hill, which is about a guy accused of murdering his girlfriend growing horns... also in turns funny and depressing.
Then you got Augusten Burroughs - any of his stuff. Like a gritter David Sedaris. Funny, and then he's talking about being coerced into sex when he was 14.

I'm sorry, I'd really like to help you anon.
>>
>>9133479
Fetishes can totally be non-sexual. I have a sexual foot fetish, and a non-sexual hand fetish - I love women's hands. I can't help but admire their aesthetic beauty. They don't give me a boner like feet do, I don't seek out hand-related porn, I just really like looking at them. I do like the idea of sucking on a girl's fingers though, but it's not really sexual like sucking on a girl's feet.
>>
>>9150524
Oh man, I have the same thing with noses. Especially large noses on women. Why? I don't know. And vitiligo. Fantastic.
>>
>>9148522
