Just because I read this post I'll add The Incredible Shrinking Many because it is both truly scary and deeply horrifying but is not typically characterized as a "horror" novel.

Decent read overall, but I agree the ending is great. Matheson tells a much better story than that piece of shit movie with black scientologist man.
