I've been wanting to write a story for a while, but one of the things that seems to stop me in my tracks is writing the beginning. I plan on having my story be a sci-fi horror blend (cuz the two genres seem to work together pretty well if done correctly.)
Got any advice for starting a story?
If you don't know how to write and have no ideas for the setup, why do you want to write something?

Just take a concept you like and run with it. Nothing is original. People just have different takes on the same concept.
Start by writing any kind of event and go from there. It's most likely gonna end up shit anyway.
