Funny this thread popped up today, given that I recently decided to abandon all my high brow writing projects in favor of writing self-indulgent smut for my own personal amusement. I'm wondering if writing for one's own personal pleasure and entertainment is inherently more or less artistic than writing with a particular purpose and/or audience in mind.
