How do I introduced my complete plebeian friend to philosophy?
He's not stupid, just a pleb.
I'm thinking The Story of Philosophy, but I'm not sure he'll digest it properly.

this tbqh. it's super engaging, easy, and short. Hollingdale's intro will give your friend a broad sense of the history of philosophy, too.

>midget vs 5' 8"
were there any non-manlet philosophers

Start him off with Hegel. Cause Hegel is basically the foundation that all other philosophers base their works on - everything is building on or reacting to Hegel's thought. And the older stuff is properly misunderstood when not seen through the prism of the Absolute Spirit. In short, itt's impossible to get into philosophy through any other way without stumbling around like a momo not knowing what you're doing and ridiculing yourself in front of everybody else.
Phänomenologie des Geistes is the prolegomena to all other philosophy.

I'm actually ok with this.

Kierkegaard was 6'2 like literally all danish men.

So he was a manlet for his country.

If he reads Spanish, Principios de filosofía by Carpio is excellent. I like it more than the English introductions that are usually recommended.

Ik it's somewhat for children but Sophie's World is what got me into philosophy at around 15, good clear (but not reduced) history of philosophy in an easily readable book. If he's more the visual type then you might want to opt for the half-decent youtube crashcourse philosophy which is extremely simplified and a bit...shit,... but it's a start.
>>9095657
a little history of philosophy

You're completely right anon.
>>9095657
You can't convince anybody of anything. He will come to philosophy if God wills it.

this is the only reasonable advice

I dont want to waste time reading old stories. I just want the ideas.
Must I really read into mythology to understand philosophy? I don't think so.

>>9099771
Nein, mein Liebling. You must read mythology to understand your life.

Get out of here, faggot. The plays only hold value as a historical curiosity, for understanding Attic society. They are trash, though.
