I think its because 4chan is some kind of social platform/forum which is outside of mass culture and even alternate culture. Furthermore, the structure is completely open to participation from anyone with complete anonymity. So basically, people with complex and usually unpopular ideas and value systems that have suffered a kind of alienation in mass culture and alternate culture (pseudo-bohemian culture?), flock to this website because it offers people a complete 'free' way of expressing themselves, Wether it be shitposting like a retard, or sending shemale cocks.
