Has anybody ever read the Halo novels? Are they any good? i know they're written by different authors, are some better than others?
I read one cuz I bought it for my brother. It was palatable, but not much more than that.
straight up it was pretty cool. I enjoy not really sci-fi sci-fi. I've read way worse adaptations, but keep in mind that I've only read the first two. I'm reading Stargate 2 right now.

Fall of Reach, First Strike, Ghosts of Onyx, the Forerunner Trilogy and Halo Evolutions(the collection of short stories) are the good things I've read
I haven't read all the new stuff and Karen Travis' books are written by Karen Travis so take with that what you will

no reason to. bigger format might seem fancier, bot normal format is better fo reading

Way better than they should be, but still not too worthwhile
Ghosts of Onyx, Contact Harvest, and Cryptum are the best. Pretty decent sci-fi books in their own right.

Eric Nylund wrote them pretty well, although I think I had a bias because it was my first sci-fi novel where problems were solved by shooting very large amounts of metal at whatever was trying to kill you.
It had scale to it.
