Picked this up the other day for 4 bucks for a friend of mine. He's into collecting older books. I was trying to figure out when this edition was published but I haven't come up with anything. Has anyone seen this particular edition before? I couldn't find a single image of a matching book. Any help would be appreciated.

Look at the publishing page in the book. Probably the first or second page.

It just says published 1900. There's nothing else, and I doubt it was the first edition of this book, dude. For 4 bucks at a book sale.

There is a foreward by Richard Burton, but no date there either. Nothing at the back of the book either.

But, here's a pretty colour picture from it.

The courtship of miles Standish was first published in the 1850's

1: then that's when it was published
2: 1900s is not that old for a book
3: books have painfully low resale value
4: books get sold for less than they're worth all the time.
I have ovid's verwandlungen 1674. got it for free cuz the dude wanted to throw it out.
I have a german adventure book from 1817. got it for 10 bucks.

Cool, thanks guys. Just curious if anyone was familiar with the book. Didn't turn up any info on it and the oldest I saw turn up were from 1920's. I'm more interested in the history of the book itself rather than resale.

Old books are everywhere, ripe for the picking, if you know where to look.
