I want to write a short story about my brother's experience as a copThere was a night about four years ago when we both still lived with my parents, I was 16, he was 26. He came home late as usual but walked into my room at like 1 in the morning, still in uniform and everything, and just talked for a while, asking how I was doing and what I'd done that day. Didn't bring up anything else but he sounded the entire time like he was about to cry. He'd always just gone to bed after he got home and he knew I was supposed to be asleep too.I asked my dad if anything was wrong the next morning and he told me my brother had gotten a call and had to cut down a dead 16 year old kid hanging from a noose. He hasn't ever mentioned it to me.

Cops don't have it hard.
They get paid well and have only a marginally higher chance of death and injury.
You're not automatically a bad person if you're a cop but many cops are entitled assholes with inferiority complexes that will get carried away with their power.
