It's just a distraction really, like women.

You learn to be a better bullshit artist. Through studying the different styles of bending language to fit a feeling or message, you become a hell of a smooth-talker. People love that. You'd be surprised how much you can get away with just by using colorful words and twisting your sentences a little bit to make them sound more poetic. Just don't overdo it or you'll be seen as pretentious.
>I need concrete and rational reasons for enjoying an artform as old as human history
anons, I have bad news for you... you might have autism

But why tho.
There are things that can't be explained by anything but poetry or art. e.g. love, happiness

So if I read poetry I get all the ladies

Using language that does not exist to create ideas that are unthinkable.

Probably not but it won't hurt your chances. I've fucked a few insecure artsy girls because "omg I luv sylvia plath she killed herself just like i want to kill myself you totally understand me, anon".

That's ok and all, but I prefer semantic content.
