"If the entire Universe was destroyed, and only Finnegans Wake was left, you could rebuild everything back from it"
Did Joyce inspire to build a seed for the living world, time-space in a nutshell? Is this the most unique and accomplished book of all time?
No Terrence Mckenna just did too many drugs

joyce inspired to tackle the theme of Modernism from a Modernist lens
and p much he did fine with it
That sounds like something a stoned teenager would say.
This book failed as a novel but succeeded as a work of art.

Only pseuds ask questions like this
But taking the bait, I think one of the reason it's so great a work of art is because of what it does as a novel. I reject the notions of successful works and attempts to make art and novel separate categories, although for the former I could perhaps become amenable to the term if you were to define it. I can't imagine you being able to do that in any intelligent way though, just as I can't imagine that you've read Finnegans Wake.
