I'm living at home so whats good music or anything I can play to cancel out noise whilst I read.

Early church music is based, but most classical music in general is pretty good as long as it doesn't get too rowdy (like some symphonies). Piano sonatas and string trios/quartets are especially likely to be small/quiet enough to fade in the background.

Sacred music my man. Anything recognizable lyrics or really crazy sections (like fugues maybe) can be distracting

Unless you're reading non-fiction you are an absolute pleb if you listen to music while reading.

Dull ambient or white noise fine, but listening to fucking Beethoven is stupid.

Amon Tobin works for me.

Why music and not white/brown noise?

Music while reading divides your attention, decreases immersion and is generally a very pleb thing to do.

To cancel out of my tinnitus and other outside noise while reading i usually listen to either airplane cabin noise, rain, or non-talking ASMR

>divides your attention, decreases immersion

It does the opposite for me. I feel much more immersed in a book when I have music playing. I can read for much longer in one sitting with music than I can without.

interesting, what kind of music do you use?

I was this guy >>9043401 and last night I listened to Steve Reich's Music For 18 Musicians while reading.

I also sometimes listen to stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3G2ngqK7xk (instrumental hip-hop)

and I haven't tried it yet but I think certain kinds of relaxing jazz, like hard bop stuff, would probably work well.
